Bring your mum to The Judge's Lodging on

Saturday 10th or Sunday 11th March 2018

and they will get in completely free. We'll also give them a yummy cup of hot chocolate, tea or coffee to stave off the rather wintery Spring weather!


Take a sound tour around the grand judge's rooms, servants' working areas, the grim cells and huge courtroom.

Laugh at the fun guidebook 'Interesting Stuff, Gross Facts & a Bit About the Building', pretend you are a maid carrying water for the Judge's bath and look silly in Victorian masks...

    Test it on the servants of course! That's what happened in 1860 at The Judge's Lodging, when gas lighting was put into the basement and not the Judge's rooms. They wanted to see if they got sick from the fumes. The servants were fine - that's why we got the lights working again.
